Staffing Update:
Having gone through the recruitment process again for a P6 teacher it was agreed by the Senior Leadership Team that no suitable candidates had applied for the post. However we are pleased to say that we have appointed two teachers who will share the P6 class until the Easter holiday. Mrs Marion Kerr, a very experienced teacher will work with the pupils on a Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Emma Gardner, who is new to Loirston, but comes with considerable experience as a class teacher, will work with the class on a Wednesday, Thursday and a Friday. Mrs Hidson will continue to line manage the class. The above arrangement will be fully implemented week beginning 6th March. The permanent full time post will be advertised in the near future.
We have also recently gone through the same process of trying to recruit a P3 to cover Mrs Mitchell’s maternity leave. Again it was deemed that no suitable candidate had applied for the post. The post will be advertised in the near future and we will keep you updated with the progress of both posts. Thank you.

We would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to Miss Sarah Work, a member of our Pupil Support Staff. Miss Work is moving on to pastures new. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution to Loirston School and wish her well with her new venture.

Valentine Disco
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Parent Council for organising the above event. Thanks must also go to all the ‘helpers’ on the night. Without the continued support of the parents events such as these would be unable to go ahead.

Pupil Progress Reports
• Pupil progress reports for P1 – P7 pupils will be shared with Parents/Carers on Thursday 29th March 2018.
• Nursery Reports will be shared with Parents on Friday 8th June 2018

Unfortunately some of our local residents have complained about the lack of consideration that some adults are showing with regard to parking around their homes when dropping children off at both school and nursery. Can we please ask that you respect our local residents when dropping off your children. Thank you.
Thank you for your continued support of the school.
