Staffing Update:
We are pleased to share with you that we have a preferred candidate for the P6 class teacher post at Loirston School. The preferred candidate status will remain until a PVG check is carried out and references are acquired. We hope that the new teacher will be able to start before the summer holiday but will keep you updated as to the status of the candidate. We would like to thank Mrs Gardner, who will be moving on at the end of this term, for her contribution to the P6 class. We are pleased to say that Mrs Kerr will continue with the class on a Monday and a Tuesday until the new teacher arrives. Mrs Pert will teach in P6 on a Wednesday and Mrs Hidson will teach in P6 on a Thursday and a Friday. Mrs Hidson will continue to oversee all the planning for the class.
We also interviewed for the P3 maternity post this week however the Senior Leadership Team agreed that none of the candidates were suitable for the post. The post has been advertised again and in the interim period Mrs Carole Thorpe will be the class teacher on a Monday and a Tuesday as from the 16th April. Mrs Thorpe’s cover for nursery on a Monday and Tuesday has yet to be identified. You will be advised when a member of staff has been appointed.

Sport Relief 2018 at Loirston School

Dear Parent / Carer,

Sport Relief 2018 is taking place between 17th – 23rd March and at Loirston we are doing our bit by holding a street jam / dance session for all classes (including nursery) on Thursday 22nd March.  There will also be a special sport related golden time on Friday 23rd March 2018.  The Primary 7 charity committee will be organising these events in school.  Pupils are invited to come along wearing sports clothes both days, (no football clothes please) and kindly pay a donation to take part in these activities.  The money raised will go to help people at home in the UK and around the world.

Thank you for your continued support.
