Dear Parents and Carers,
Autism and Other Conditions Aberdeen – Parent Support Group
We know that provision for families with children with additional needs can vary. Our children are very unique, and it can be difficult when other people don’t understand them. Parents who have children with additional needs often feel isolated. We hope that in setting up Autism and Other Conditions Aberdeen we can build a supportive environment for parents to meet, listen and talk through concerns or issues and of course eat cake.
Whatever your concerns, whether you have a diagnosis, or are in the process of getting a diagnosis or just have concerns about your child you are welcome. Peer support can be an invaluable resource and lifeline.
We hope you can join us for an initial meeting on the 12th June 10.00am -11.30am at Rosemount Community Centre, Belgrave Terrace, Aberdeen, AB25 2NS to plan our way forward. We will look at different venues across the city for future meetings. If you are interested in coming along please let us know.
Alternatively, if you can’t make it this time, but want to connect please get in touch. Let us know how we can make this support group work for you and your family.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Lyn and Marion

As usual there will be a tuck shop and glow stall selling Hawiian garlands, bracelets and rings with prices ranging from 20p – £1.
All profits from these discos will be donated to Olivia’s Journey.
Your Parent Council.
Just a reminder that tomorrow afternoon we will be hosting an Inter-house sporting event to raise money to donate to Olivia’s fund. All children are encouraged to come wearing something in the colour of their house and all donations will be gratefully accepted. Some P4-7 children have volunteered to take part in some sporting activities and the rest of the children in the school will be cheering on their house in the hope of winning house points.
The colours are as follows:
Red Rocks Red
Black Cove Orange
A number of children have said they forgot to bring their order forms in today so P7 have extended the deadline until tomorrow morning. All orders for cookies and muffins needs to be handed into class teachers first thing Tuesday morning to enable P7 to place their order in enough time for Thursday.
ursery children enjoyed visiting the primary classes. We saw lots of different things that happen in the primary school. We saw where you put your coat and how you order your lunch. Some of us even did gym with the P2s.
We can’t wait to go back next week.

9.30am – Sports Activities on the field for P1-3
11.00am Flat races on the field for all pupils
1.30pm – Sports activities on the field for P4-7
Further information will follow nearer the time.
We are in the process of compiling the classes for next session and matching staff to the classes. We will let you know this information as soon as we are in a position to.
Primary 7 Visits to Kincorth Academy
The 2 day visit will not be on consecutive days this year. The 2 days for visits are Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th June. On both days P7 pupils will be expected to make their own way to school which starts at 8.30. Any further information we receive will be passed on asap.
The Primary 7 Leavers‘ Assembly will be at 10am on Thursday 29th June. All parents and carers are invited to attend.
Car Parking at the front of the school
We would like to remind parents and carers that the staff car park is only for staff and that drivers must not use that area or the area at the front door for dropping off or turning their vehicles. This is highly dangerous as pupils who come by taxi are dropped off at the front door and these vehicles need access and also because of the number of vehicles that need to use the area.
Pupils should access the school by the appropriate unit door at the start and end of the day unless there are special circumstances which have been communicated to the school. The safety of a pupil who is using the front door cannot be guaranteed because of the number of vehicles that need to access it.
